A fascination with the unseen in the natural world is the foundation of my work.  There is a whole world out there which we never get to see, unless it is viewed through microscopic images. My main interest lies in the patterns and texture, which often appear to have a thread like structure.  The circle or sphere is representational of the microscope lens, but my drawings and sculptures come from my imagination and are in the form of ‘Biomorphic Abstractions’, with the emphasis on drawing with the chosen media.  My sculptures are created over a framework of mod roc and, as with the canvasses, layered with fabrics, which have been stained, or imprinted with a rusting process.
